"Georgie" the Desert Tortoise. Yes...he is registered (for those wondering)! The desert tortoise (Gopherus agassizii) is endangered in the wild and is protected under Federal and State laws. It is illegal to buy or sell desert tortoises, or to take them from the desert. Georgie is 30 years old and can live to be 70-90 years old. He is listed in his owners will. For those of you who want an animal who will out live you...there you go!
One of our many walks! We enjoyed every minute of the cooler weather. We left our 110+ degree weahter...drove 1hr 15mins....and arrived to 70+ degrees!
